Members & Subs,

September 8th (Scramble 9 Holes, Dinner, Awards, Skin Money & Door Prizes)

The cost of the dinner and team awards was included in your league dues.  If you will not be playing next week I need to know in order to have a good count on the food.  Thanks!

(* If anyone has any door prize items to donate to the cause, please bring them next week)

(** If you are going to have a sub on your team or know you will be missing next week, please let me know as soon as possible.  The scramble will be a two team foursome event setup based on handicap, so I need to know about subs.)  Known: 1. Super Sub "Deke" is subbing for Jason Woolwine

September 1st Results:
The battle for the 2010 League Championship continues with the final episode starting at 4:00 PM next Wednesday.  Mann and Paterson, who held 1st place off and on for 11 weeks of the season, were tied by Frank Shufran and Stan Pytel on the last night of the regular season at 65 points each.  Due to darkness approaching the sudden death playoff will precede the scramble next week.  The playoff begins on hole #1 and scoring is determined by team net score.  The team handicap for Mann (11) & Paterson (13) is 24 and Shufran (8) & Pytel (11) is 19.  Therefore the Manson Family will receive five strokes over the nine holes if needed, one on each of the following holes; #1, #3, #4, #7 and #9.

Kent Hamilton & Art Erdelac got the minimum amount of points that they could get by with to retain 3rd place with their opponents finishing one point behind in 4th place.  The match-up between Bob Miller & Art Hamilton vs. Rich Dobis & Larry Bella could have propelled one team into a tie for 3rd place bypassing Ray Pall & Scott Haller.  But this ended up a kissing their sister match with a tie at 3 points each preventing either team from moving into the money.

All the other matches ended up being played for one last chance to look respectable, skin money and maybe team low net for the night.  Terry Bronowski & Jason Woolwine's team net 56 smoked 2nd place Barry Rippe & Mark Haller's 63 to cash in on the last night net event for non-winners.  The last place team of Jerry Weeden & Bert Valenkamph scored 11 of their 28 points in the last two nights and probably want to extend the season while they are hot.

Eleven birds bagged with Paul Benson snaring three and the scorekeeper two.  #17 yielded the most with 3.  Benson #10, #15 & #17, Rippe #10 & #11, Pall #13, Scott Haller #17, Woolwine #11, Mark Haller #17, Ernie Hasselbring #18 and Les Sauer #13.

Three gross skins at $8 each; Rippe #11, Benson #15 and Hasselbring #18.  Three net skins at $24 each; Woolwine #11, Bronowski # and Valenkamph #.  The top five gross money winners were Bella, Snoeyink, Benson, Woolwine and Craig Gall.  All but three skin pot participants cashed at least once.  Winners remember the non-winners when you purchase beer next week.

Team Payoff for Regular Season:

1st = $240*

2nd = $180*

3rd = $120 (Kent Hamilton & Erdelac)

4th = $60 (Pall & Scott Haller)

Final Night Low Net = $40 (Bronowski & Woolwine)

  * To be determined in sudden death playoff on September 8th

Tentative Scramble Team Payoff for September 8th:

1st = $80

2nd = $40

3rd = $20

Closest to Pin (#6 & #8) = $10 each
